Information for parents
Vital Vibes is part of Healthy Futures Knowsley and offers free, friendly support for young people aged 13 to 17 who live in Knowsley or have a Knowsley GP and have a BMI over the 91st centile*.
The programme is designed to help young people feel healthier, more confident and more in control of their wellbeing.
Through our 8 to 12 week programme, young people can explore simple ways to eat well, move more, sleep better and look after their emotional wellbeing. Sessions are relaxed, practical and supportive, with no judgement and no pressure. Everyone can take part in a way that feels right for them.
Some sessions will be in a local community venue and others are online.
*A centile shows how a child’s weight compares with others of the same age and height. The 50th centile is around average. Lower numbers mean a lower weight, and higher numbers mean a higher weight.
We will help with
- Building confidence around food, activity and everyday routines.
- Finding enjoyable ways to be active, including activities that suit different interests and abilities.
- Learning about healthy meals, snacks and drinks in a realistic way.
- Understanding sleep, screen time, stress and how these affect health.
- Setting small personal goals and celebrating progress.
Vital Vibes is not about quick fixes. It is about making small, achievable changes that can fit into real life. Young people will be encouraged to try new ideas, ask questions and discover what helps them feel good in their own body and mind.
